Piano
One-to-one and small group piano lessons for all ages, from beginner to advanced.
Our piano program is designed for children aged 4.5 and above, offering both one-on-one and small group lessons (1:2 ratio). Lessons are carefully structured to provide a warm, engaging, and supportive learning environment where young students can build confidence and develop a genuine love for music.
At the beginner stage, children establish their first connection with music through a step-by-step approach. Lessons may include:
- Basic musical concepts such as high/low, loud/soft, and fast/slow
- Introduction to the piano, including keyboard layout, posture, and hand position
- Early note-reading skills and understanding of simple musical symbols
- Rhythm development through clapping, movement, and interactive activities
- Ear training through listening games, pitch matching, and imitation
- Solo and ensemble playing to encourage cooperation and musical enjoyment
Lessons are typically held once a week, with 30, 45 or 60 minutes per session. Parents are welcome to sit in, especially for younger beginners, to support practice at home.
We use a variety of internationally recognized teaching materials, including Piano Adventures, Bastien Piano Basics, Alfred’s Basic Piano Library, Poco Studio Piano, John Thompson’s Piano Course, and Faber Feel Music Series. Each student’s learning path is carefully selected based on their age, personality, and learning style.
In addition to building strong fundamentals and musical expression, we provide structured preparation for ABRSM, Trinity College London, and NCEA Music examinations, supporting students who wish to progress through internationally recognized assessment systems.
